As their name suggests, a belt-drive pressure washer is driven by a belt and pulley system that is mounted to an electric motor or gas or diesel engine.
This system allows for belt driven pumps to turn at a much lower RPM than direct driven pumps. In addition, a larger crankcase oil capacity and the fact that they are isolated from the heat of the engine or motor, means that belt drive pumps generally run much cooler than their direct drive counterparts. Pump wear and fatigue is also substantially reduced as the belts and pully system absorbs most of the vibration generated from use.
Put these factors together and this means that belt-drive pumps generally have a longer life span than direct drive pumps and can handle heavier duty applications.
As a factory authorized dealer, we offer a wide selection of belt driven pumps from brands such as Hotsy, Landa, Karcher, General Pump, and Annovi Reverberi. If you need help picking out the right pump for your pressure washer, feel free to give us a call and we’ll get you set up.
