Thermal Relief Valves

Our thermal relief valves are designed to protect your pressure washer pump from damage due to excessively high temperatures within the pump head. These high temperatures are typically caused by running a pressure washing in bypass mode, meaning leaving the unit running without the trigger gun being pulled, prohibiting water flow. This bypass mode can be detrimental to the pressure washer pump seals, pump valves and other components.
The thermal relief valve plumbs into the pressure washer pump inlet and opens when the temperature reaches typically 145 degrees F. It ports hot water out of the pump, allowing cool water to enter, reducing the temperature inside the pump head and saving the pressure washer pump seals from damage.
